Honda began its journey with humble baby steps, post WWII, when it started with the motorcycle range. Honda then released their first road car in the early 1960s, they developed their first road car. Since then they have established themselves as the leader in the automobile industry. Honda has always gone beyond being just a manufacturer of reliable, fuel efficient cars. They provide a level of unsurpassed performance, comfort and mileage, what with a wide range of automobiles on offer. Occupying the fourth position in the global auto arena, Honda cars are well liked and sought after.

With Honda you know that you will get just the right car that fits your lifestyle and is light on the pocket too.

These cars appeal across the different demographies. Oft times you will notice that Honda cars seem to hesitate with rebates and money back attractions. The primary reason behind this is to counter a fall in resale value in the homeland. It is understandable therefore that Honda cars come with other incentives such as low APR and leasing options. With improved safety features, a more powerful engine as well as spacious seating for the sedan range, Honda cars offer value for money.

Car models range from Element, a model that is quite unusual, to the Civic, a prime example of small cars. The Civic has also seen some user friendly modifications in the form of an in built navigation system and monitoring of tire pressure.

The year 2008 has seen a complete revamp of Honda Accord. The enhanced Honda car model, the Odyssey, has also seen some marked change with a better suspension system in place, and improved horsepower as also a modification in the wheel structure.

Honda cars also make a mark in the award arena, bagging quite a few distinctions there. While the Civic received the Motor Trend Car award, the Ridgeline is often admired for its top class performance. It’s not an exaggeration to day that the Honda range of automobiles are trusted for their robust engines and power packed driving capacity. The Honda car manufacturers have a long standing name for dependability and value for money.

It’s no surprise that Honda cars have been adjudged the best models offering good Industry Brand Residual Value by the Automotive Lease Guide. With several innovative makes in the pipeline, counting the Si Mugen model, Honda cars are likely to meet Gen X face up!

If buying a second hand toyota camry in Ireland there are certain things you should look for.Neglected metallic paint can be faded through to metal. Moulded plastic bumpers are often covered to mask repairs.

As the bonded front and rear screen seals fail, water will pour in under the carpets and rot the floor. Front apron has flimsy metal stays at each corner worth all of 50 cents but cost 25 to replace.

Check for underbody damage at front. Walk away if the body is no good.Appalling imitation body panels and lights are common and ruin Camry safety and strength.. High-mileage steering wheel rims could pull away from internal frame. Check all door hardware, locks, interior/dash lights and switches especially heater fan which is costly and fiddly to get working again. Padded central console lid essential for rear passenger safety but nasty folded plastic hinges snap for costly replacement.

Spongy brake pedal usually means master cylinder overhaul. Air-con may need costly updating if not working.Camry engines never give trouble, then reach a point when most items fail in rapid succession. First to go is the radiator or the alternator, followed by a leaky water pump driven by the cam belt and hidden from view for disaster if not caught in time. Welch plugs, oil seals around distributor, engine sump, rocker cover and rear main then go in quick succession as under bonnet heat destroys everything perishable.

Cooling hoses, windscreen washer jets and hoses, ignition coil, expensive plug leads and distributor cap, fuel lines, power steering hoses and pump all need to be monitored.Noisy or worn manual gearboxes are now showing up. Excessive graunching or noise suggests a hard life or faulty clutch hydraulics. Broken engine mounts are common and quickly generate costly exhaust fractures.Rear liftback struts on wagon fail but can be re-gassed. Check rear wiper operation. Make sure liftback shuts and seals properly to avoid killer exhaust leaks. Check rear load area for tell tale creases from hefty rear impact.

More and more people are choosing to drive their cars without insurance. 20% of all drivers asked in a recent survey said that they, at some time, had driven a car without insurance. The previous survey had shown just 15% driving without insurance. In most cases, it was done in their own car. Most of those who drove without insurance were either men or young drivers.

Despite the fact that driving without insurance is an offence that results in a heavy fine, the deduction of 6 points from your licence and a court appearance drivers are still taking the risk. The police also have the right to impound the vehicle and charge the driver for towing and storing the vehicle. If the impounded car is not collected within 14 days, it can be scrapped. Yet due in part to the current financial climate, more people are making the decision to drive without insurance.

The cost to insurance companies of drivers who drive without insurance is also soaring. If an uninsured driver hits one of their clients, who has fully comprehensive insurance, the insurance has to pay most of the cost of having their client’s car repaired. The insured driver who has been hit usually misses out too, they lose their no claims bonus and if they have an excess on the policy they have to pay that too.

When a driver with third party insurance is hit, they have to pay the full cost of having their car repaired. Even when they know who hit them and call the police they still have to pay the cost of any repairs.

Because of the damage driving without insurance is causing and the alarming increase in the levels of uninsured drivers on the road the Police are cracking down hard. They are now able to use the licensing authorities’ database of untaxed vehicles to lead them to uninsured drivers and confiscate their vehicles. Hopefully the risk of losing their vehicles will stop drivers from driving without insurance.

Journeys with kids can be daunting, when you have a long journey to complete, or you are going somewhere new. It is worse if you are a relative of friend who is not used to having kids in the car.

The key to trouble free journeys with kids is to make sure that they are comfortable and occupied. To be comfortable a child needs enough space in an area with good ventilation. Make sure that seat belts are at the right height to cope with the child’s car seat or booster cushion. Take food and drink with you that the kids like, but which they cannot make a mess with. Choose drinks that can be drunk through a straw or a bottle rather than from a can.

To keep kids occupied have a variety of things for them to do, available. Old-fashioned journey games like I Spy, cloud spotting and number plate spotting can keep modern kids happy, but only for a while. A CD of favourite songs, which the whole family can sing along to can be fun and absorbing. If your kids like reading, books or comics are ideal on a long journey. Most kids still like puzzle books too.

MP3 players, portable DVD players, hand-held games consoles, laptops, mobile phones all have many distracting games for kids. Ensure that the batteries for each appliance are fully charged and that you carry chargers for each of them, which allow in car charging. If you are caught in traffic, batteries can soon become flat, leading to tension.

Even if you manage to keep the children occupied in the car, do not forget to stop regularly. Giving them a change of scenery and a chance to stretch their legs every 90 minutes will mean that they will not tire of playing when they are in a car. No matter how much a child likes something they will still tire of it at some point.

Sound familiar to you? These are the words that make up the slogan campaign of the Japanese auto manufacturer Subaru. Though the company is relatively small in size compared to its other competitors, Subaru generates quite enough of a lucrative profit for it to be recognized as among the leading industry leaders in automotive production. What else is there to expect, after all, from a company that understands the balance created by equal thought and emotion? For those at Subaru, then, constructing a line of products that run from a number of Subaru car parts or auto replacement components to tire pieces must entail high engineering performance that would ensure Subaru parts are not going to give anyone even the littlest bit of trouble, and that the designs should appeal to the tastes as well as whims of present consumers.

Such a distinction carries over to its production of trucks and car components. Think. Feel. Drive. The orientation of the slogan, at first glance, may seem to be conflicting in nature, especially when one considers the words “think” and “feel”, with one side advocated by Descartes’ “I think, therefore I am” and the other by Rosseau’s “I feel, therefore I am.” But Subaru serves to adjust the definitions this time by advocating balance between thought and emotion, between idea and sentiment.

The slogan has served to capture the core of Subaru’s strength as Subaru has focused its marketing and production work in turning out all-wheel drive vehicles that exhibit conventional bodies and that employ turbo-charged engines that are horizontally-opposed. Subaru’s success lies mainly in its seamless adaptation to changing consumer needs and demands. In the 2000s, Subaru captured a high percentage of the U.S. market with its production of its SUV line that was smaller and lighter than the other SUVs available at that time.

In short, Subaru provided consumers with a choice they didn’t have before. What was wrong with the big, heavy cars? The time, back then, was starting to be characterized by a growing number of people buying and learning how to handle a car. Taking this into consideration, Subaru knew that the shifting consumer dynamics was going to affect the market, and that more and more choices had to be available to answer divergent consumer preferences. Subaru’s plan, it turns out, was a success.

Still keeping an eye out for outside factors, Subaru switched to refining its line of all wheel drive autos and wagons to avoid turning into another corporate road kill under the wheels of competing Japanese automakers that had already mastered the market and would no doubt have squashed Subaru’s initial forays into the niche with crushing force.

This attention to the shifting cues of the market and consumer motivations have enabled Subaru to market its products, from its auto parts line or auto replacement parts row to its engines. In the 1990s, Subaru would again make its presence known as it developed rally car makes that employed the much publicized six-cylinder SVX and Impreza. With the interest in rally racing becoming more and more widespread, Subaru, maker of reliable Subaru parts, again found itself at the forefront of another niche.

If people tear the upholstery in their car, their immediate reaction is that it will cost a fortune to repair and has to be done by an expert. In fact most tears can be repaired by the car owner without any specialist tools. The repair will not look perfect, but the tear will not get any worse. If need be the tear can be repaired by a professional later. Usually, they will replace the whole panel, or cover the whole seat in a new fabric.

It is easier to repair fabric seats, than vinyl seats. All you need is a strong needle and good thread, both of which you can buy from your local arts and craft shop. Match the colour of the thread to your car seat carefully a good match is key to getting a reasonable result. Make sure that the needle you buy can cope with thick fabric, but has a small enough eye to pass through the fabric without leaving holes. Check that the thread can pass through the eye too. Upholstery thread is thicker than sewing thread.

To repair a fabric tear do not just sew the tear together. When you sit on the seat the fabric stretches, this stretching will cause a new tear to open alongside the tear you have just stitched up.

Create a grid of stitches along the length of the tear. Those initial stitches are not designed to pull the tear together in any way; they are there to add strength and structure. Now you are ready to put in the stitches that will repair the tear, along its length. Do this as you would for any normal tear but do not tighten the stitches as much as you would normally. The repaired fabric needs to have some give built into it.

The stitching you have made needs to be protected from the friction that occurs when people sit in the repaired chair. A layer of fabric gel should provide adequate protection; periodically renew this protective covering.

However, like making decisions regarding a number of other issues, the wrong choice could also cost you greatly. Car rental services also come in handy for other situations apart from when you are traveling, such as for weddings and other occasions. Here are some pointers to help you get favorable car rental deals.

Picking Your Car

The right vehicle is the vehicle that suits your needs and falls within your budget. Will you be traveling with children, friends, gear or equipment? Do you wish to save money on energy consumption rates? Will you be requiring something classy or fast? Most companies offering services related to car rentals offer various cars for various needs. From flashy models, to roomy sedans and even an eco-friendly car, if that is what you require.

Be sure to also consider other factors such as if the car has an automatic or shift gear system. In some countries, shift gear cars are very popular, so you need to sure they have a car you can drive. Other factors worthy of consideration are the extra options you may want the car to have such as a ski rack or a GPS system. Extra options and requirements may cost you a bit more. It always helps to first determine the type of car that suits your needs and taste before trying to get a good car deal.

Book the Car

Now that you know the type of car you need, you would need to make a booking in advance to make it easier for you. The internet makes this quite easy to get good rental car deals. Here again, the right choice is based on certain factors. For example, how long will you need the car? If you require the car for a short duration, like below a week, you can get a good rental car deal from major rental companies. Some major rental service providers include Avis, Alamo, Dollar, Budget, Enterprise, Thrifty, National or Hertz.

If you will need the car for a longer period, then you may get better car rental deals from local rental companies or car dealers. Take note that local rental companies and auto dealers may have limited insurance cover. When deciding on which provider to rent a car from it is advised to shop around. Compare rates, services and deals. Websites such as Kayak and Travelocity are useful to help compare rates.

Take Advantage of Promotional Codes

Many major car rental companies offer promotional codes for discounts rates. You can do a search online before booking for a car.

Read my latest articles on What You Require In Car Rental Deal and do check out my website for my other automotive tips .

The most dangerous road in Britain has been named in a damning report which concludes one in ten motorways and A roads present an ‘unacceptably high risk to users’. The Road Safety Foundation has released the findings of its study into some of the most dangerous and high-risk roads in the UK, were half of the fatal road accidents in the UK happen on just 10% of the country’s roads.

This segment of the single carriageway was the spot for 21 fatal and severe injuries in 2008. The study, which looked at approximately 28,000 miles of British motorways and A-roads, was created in a bid to persuade the government to focus expenditure on improving road safety measures. The RSF argue that the high costs of running hospitals and emergency services could be reduced by spending more modest sums on improving well-known accident blackspots.

To combat the incidents on the Cat and Fiddle section, over 5000, 000 has been spent so far on road safety improvements and observation including installing high-friction surfacing, barriers and signs, widening the carriageway, using mobile speed cameras, reducing the speed limit and the use of unmarked police cars and a police aircraft all with the sole aim of enforcing the speed limit in this notorious section of the road.

Scotland emerged as the most dangerous region surveyed in the report. Around 12 per cent of Scotland’s motorways and A-roads were rated in the higher risk categories, with one in nine fatal road traffic accidents occurring on the country’s roads. The report also found that a third of all fatal and serious crashes occur at junctions, while one in four crashes involve a motorbike.

Dr Joanne Hill, director at the Road Safety Foundation said: ‘This year’s report shows that by targeting a relatively small mileage of high-risk roads, we can do so with good economic returns and reduce road deaths and serious injuries”.

The popularity of used or rather second hand cars has skyrocketed in the past few years, especially in the light of the economic crisis. When comparing to new car buyers there has been almost a tripling of numbers in terms of those who bought new cars. This is also true in terms of people selling off their cards due to the credit crunch and recession.

So there are now more cars for sale in the used car dealerships, but buying these items still needs some precautionary steps. Even though most of these units are marketed as almost new, being alert is still helpful. Here are a few helpful hints if you are buying a used car from a dealership or anywhere else.

The first tip that is highly recommended for you to follow is to test drive your chosen vehicle. This is important in a number of ways. First it will ascertain if the car is really made for you. Are the controls to your liking, is it comfortable, is there enough leg space? These considerations alongside how it handles on the road will help you decide. A reputable seller of used cars should allow you to take the vehicle for a spin a few times around the block. If he or she does not allow a test then just go look for another dealer.

Always personally check the vehicle and do not take the marketing talk of the seller at face value. Remember they are trying to sell it so they will not point out flaws or negative things about the unit. Keep asking questions even the seemingly stupid ones. You have the right to know since you will be the future owner should you decide to buy the car.

The first part of your visual inspection will be to check the mileage. The benchmark for years and mileage is around 12,000 to 15,000 miles driven per year. So if you see a car around say 14,000 miles on the odometer then it is safe to assume it is just around one year old.

A simple test you can also do on the car is to knock your fist on the body panels lightly. Do this all around the car. As you do so listen and feel the changes in sound and hardness. A deep and solid sound on a body panel means only one thing, and that this area has been repaired due to some accident in the past. Once you notice this get the attention of the dealer and ask about it. A damaged vehicle that was later repaired and sold again will fetch much less on the market. You can definitely knock off some dollars if this is the case.

Bringing in a mechanic to do the job of looking over the vehicle is also recommended if you can do it. He or she would know the quirks of the car in question and can give you a better analysis and recommendation. This sort of professional assessment can help you in making the final decision to buy or not or look for another vehicle.

Buying second hand cars is a form of investment. Thus one has to prepare and study the purchase accordingly. Taking studied and well planned steps prior to final payment is always a wise and prudent decision of any buyer.

There has been a great demand of cars by every group of people as cars have always been the most essential requirement for an individual and family. Cars whether new or used, give the same feel and comfort while traveling with family and friends. Mostly used cars are sold and purchased in the market; this is because there is more than fifty percent of the family that belongs from middle class and thus cannot afford to buy the new one. So keeping this in mind and fulfilling this basic need of people, there exits few websites where everyone can buy any brand, model, color and even car accessories.

Online free classifieds means that the person can buy used car just at sitting home; what the user needs to do is search for the used cars category; there are huge collection of the used Maruti Suzuki cars with various models such as Swift, Esteem, Omni, Suzuki, Wagnor, Swift desire, Alto and many more.

The entire above mentioned cars are available in various collections, the user just needs to narrow the selection list and select their preferred one. Buying a used car does not mean that its warranty period has been expired. All the range of used Maruti cars has warranty still on them.

Information regarding various models, brands, colors, year of purchase if it is a second hand car, number of years it has already been used, facilities such as air conditioners, fully loaded, power locks, power steering, power windows, alloy wheels, leather interior, MAG wheels, kilometers it is run, average it is providing, and many more details can be taken online from this website. The buyer just needs to choose the above mentioned categories and get the desired information regarding various brands easily online.

Therefore it is a myth that one should not buy the used cars, as these are available in good working conditions.
